The goal of Downtag is simple - to proactively and reactively keep you safer, as you go about your day to day activities. To accomplish this, Downtag combines a number of products and services to allow our clients to go about their day to day lives with the peace of mind that there is always someone there for them in an emergency.
There are four primary components that makeup the foundation of your Downtag membership:
- The DownTag - a laser engraved medallion (similar in shape and size to a military "dog tag") that you wear around your neck. Always wearing your DownTag under your clothes/protective gear ensures that it is protected in the event of an accident and that it is easily discovered by responding medical personnel.
- Our Emergency Information Database (EID) - utilizing Microsoft's® HealthVault™ platform, our EID contains all of your personal identification, emergency contact, and medical history information. This is where you store and we retrieve the information we will be providing the emergency responders and hospital staff, in the event of it being needed. All you have to do is fill out the information and keep it up to date. We do the rest!
- Our Trip Planning and Management System (TPAMS) - a proprietary internet and cell phone accesible system utilizing Microsoft's® Bing Maps™ and custom GPS tracking technology (where available) that allows Downtag dispatchers to, in an emergency, dispatch emergency services to your exact location. Using this system, you, your friends and family can rest easy knowing that there is someone ready to help, exactly where you need it, as soon as it's needed.
- Our Emergency Operations Center (EOC) - a 24 hour staffed dispatch center, similar to that used by public emergency response systems (police, fire, and EMS agencies) allowing Downtag to be there for you at all times! In the event that the Downtag offices encounter a man-made or natural disaster, our Mobile Communications Center is up and running within minutes; allowing us to continue to protect you without any downtime.
Operating as one integrated solution, The DownTag, combined with the comprehensive services we offer, establishes your "virtual safety net". Whether you're alone in your adventures or are a part of a large group, you can rest easy knowing that should the worst case scenario happen, Downtag will be there to ensure that you have the very best chances of survival!
